NSNP 2026 Update – 10 Streams Consolidated into 4 (Effective February 18, 2026)
The Nova Scotia Nominee Program has undergone major changes. As of February 18, 2026, the previous 10 streams have been consolidated into 4 main streams:

Pathway A: Experienced Business Owners & Managers
This pathway is designed for established business experts looking to invest in and run a new or existing business in the province.
- Eligibility: Requires 3+ years as a business owner (or 5+ years as a senior manager), a high school diploma, and CLB 5 language skills.
- Financials (Halifax): Requires a minimum net worth of $600,000 CAD and a personal investment of $150,000 CAD.
- Financials (Regional): Requires a minimum net worth of $400,000 CAD and a personal investment of $100,000 CAD outside the Halifax area.
- The Process: Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), receive an invitation, secure a Temporary Work Permit, operate the business for 1 year, and apply for Permanent Residency.
Pathway B: International Graduate Entrepreneurs
This streamlined pathway is tailored for international graduates who have already launched or purchased a local business.
- Eligibility: Requires a 2-year full-time degree/diploma from a Nova Scotia university or NSCC, and a CLB 7 language level or higher.
- Business Experience: Must already hold a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and have actively operated the Nova Scotia business for at least 1 year.
